Telling about the Kingdom

Is God Calling You to Tell?

Before you can introduce others to Christ, you must:

God's heart for the lost

He came to save us
"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." (Luke 19:10)

He wants no one to perish
"He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

Is your heart burdened for the lost?

God has Commanded us be ready and to go

Go share the Good News and seek the lost
Our Lord has commissioned each of us to share the Good News and "seek the lost." He said, "Go and make disciples of all nations"; and "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation" (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15). It is our greatest calling, then, to share the love and forgiveness He has given us with those who have never received Him as their Savior and Lord.

Are you ready?
"Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction." (2 Timothy 4:2)

As we follow Christ we become fishers of men
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19)
Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will catch men.”
(Luke 5:10)

Are you following Christ? Will you following him as he calls you to go and share the Good News of Christ?

God gives us power and is with us

God has given us His power though the Holy Spirit to witness.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.." (Acts 1:8).

God promises to be with you
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19, 20)

Are you following God's call to learn how to share with the lost?

Are you ready to fish for men?

Here are some simple steps you can take to get you ready

Learn how to share your story:

A gospel tract can help equip you to share.
Learn how – Ex. of a gospel tract "Connecting with God."

Lastly learn how to turn the conversation to Christ:
Christ used questions to engage with people

Here are a few questions to help steer the conversation to spiritual topics.

  1. How's your (life, job, school, etc) going?
  2. Are you satisfied with ______________? (Career, life, job, school, retirement, etc)
  3. Is God calling you to something more? Or, what do you think God has for you next?
  4. Do you attend a church? Or, what Church do you attend?
  5. On a scale of 1-100, how sure are you that you will go to heaven?
  6. Can I explain to you how you can be sure?

Is God calling you to start sharing the Good News of Jesus?

Whom do I share with?
(Learn to look for divine appointments)

Taking the initiative with those that God puts in your path for more than a few minutes (Divine Appointments) and as the Holy Spirit leads you. Using the question above to help steer the conversation to spiritual topics.

Remember to listen to where the person is and pray that God would direct you how to challenge him/her to take the next step in their spiritual journey. You can also help conclude that maybe God is calling them to something more and they could learn more at

Your commitment

Ask God to help you be his ambassador.

"Lord I thank you for the privilege it is to know you personally. Help me to be your ambassador to others as I trust the Holy Spirit to guide me. Bring to my attention the divine appointments you put in my path every day, so that I can take the initiative. Teach me to listen for where you're working in others' lives, and enable me to help them take the next step in their spiritual journey. Either by helping them know God personally and/or growing in their relationship with you. Help me now to be faithful to proclaim the good news to those around me."
